MOVING IN FREE ZONES #2: SHORT DOCUMENTARY
The short documentary was conceived and produced together with the filmmaker Jacopo Mario Gandolfi. It is a first preparatory investigation on the use of the public space in Charlois (South of Rotterdam) for the next phase: the film ZUID.
The documentary focuses on two case studies: a garden in Oud-Charlois, a first experiment of semi-public space; and the Tarwewijk Buurtpost as a social hub and a network tool in a neighborhood that, especially in the ’90s, was considered one of the most dangerous in The Netherland.
We confronted the two cases by giving two different perspectives of using and thinking about public space nowadays in Rotterdam.
